The Parish Pastoral Council is the coordinating and unifying structure of the parish community. The purpose of the Council is to detect the movement of the Spirit among the people of God, to work for a unified vision among its members and to help the parish meet the challenge of the Church in the modern world. The Council is an advisory board to the Pastor. The Parish Pastoral Council is made up of priests and lay persons. The lay members are those who are elected and selected at large and chairpersons or representatives of the coordinating committees.
The coordinating committees are Administration, Stewardship, Formation, Service, Social Concerns and Liturgy. Each of these committees work together to organize, promote and coordinate every apostolic activity within the Parish. This group works to assure a continuous and integrated survey of both the spiritual and temporal needs of the individual, the family, the parish and the community. It attempts to set priorities and to establish goals and objectives to meet the needs of St. Philip Neri – St. Albert the Great Parish.
The Parish Pastoral Council meetings are always open, but in order to speak, a person must submit a request to the Chairperson prior to the meeting and be placed on the agenda. The meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
